Missionary Bio

About

Rob and Audrey served with Josiah Venture (JV) from 2011 to 2016, working with the English Camps team in the Czech Republic. After moving back to the U.S. for several years, where Rob served on staff at a church in Florida, they once again felt God leading them back to JV. They returned to the Czech Republic in August 2019 and currently live in the city of Ostrava, where they serve on Josiah Venture’s International Training Team. Rob’s focus is on developing disciplemaking resources and training leaders across Central and Eastern Europe to effectively serve and equip others in their local ministries. Audrey is using her Spiritual Direction training to support the JV staff through helping lead the Soul Care and Shepherding team, which is an arm of the International team. They have two daughters, Stella and Adria.

2023 Fall Conference – Lifeline

The theme for our annual Fall Conference, which happened in the Czech Republic on Sept. 25-29, 2023, was “Lifeline: First Responders and the Anxious Generation.” We brought in Dr. David Van Dyke, a marriage and family therapist, and professor at Wheaton College, to speak and train us all in what it looks like to be like Jesus for people in need. Our goal was to equip youth leaders across the region with practical tools to respond to the ever-increasing mental health issues among the youth in their ministries.⁠ Please enjoy and share this teaching.

Fall Conference has always been one of the kick-off points for the new school year in Josiah Venture (JV). It’s the primary equipping conference that brings around 400 of our JV staff and partners together to train and focus our attention on a topic that continues the movement of God among the youth of Central and Eastern Europe.

Play the Long Game

I made a joke the other day that I’ve stopped recognizing what day of the week it is and I’m just going by what week of the year it is. As the days have seemingly blended together I felt it would be easier to say, “Hey, it’s week 10 everybody!” It was quickly pointed out however, that it was actually week 14. So much for keeping track of what time is supposed to look like now in the long game. But then again in the realm of youth ministry something I need to be more ok with and actually focus on is the long game.
