Zala Cempre
Growing up in Slovenia, Zala believed that God existed. However, it wasn’t until her second English Camp with Josiah Venture, in 2009, that she realized that her understanding of God was wrong. After camp, she started going to the youth group and asking many questions about God. Having people intentionally discipling and reading the Bible with her made a huge impact on her and eventually, she decided to accept Christ as her Savior.
In 2013, she was invited to volunteer with the high school youth ministry, which gave her many opportunities to start discipling girls herself. It was during these years that her heart and passion for young people grew. This resulted in her serving with Josiah Venture as a summer intern and, then, serving as a full-time staff member since 2016.
Currently, she serves in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, as a high school leader in the local church. There, she disciples girls and leads a group of volunteers. On a national level, she leads a 2-year discipleship program for college students. She loves to take students on short-term mission trips to former Yugoslavian countries where they serve the local churches.
